Meet the Team

A small group of parents make up the Friends of Vale School team, meeting regularly to plan fund-raising events and activities being undertaken. If you are interested in becoming a Trustee or you are able to lend a hand from time to time, please contact us.

Jacqui Jenkins – Jacqui retired after 30 years in the public sector, although now seems to be oddly busier than when in paid employment! She has 2 children, both former Vale pupils and now at High School and two stepsons – also both former Vale pupils – and now at University

Jacqui is married to Kevin who is a Vale School governor.  She has experience in a range of volunteering roles and enjoys event planning and management.

Emily Griffiths – Emily moved to Worthing from Horsham in 2012. She joined the FOV team not only to support the school but to wider her social circle being relatively new to the area, and now knows rather a lot of lovely people here.

She has one daughter in Year 2, a second daughter joining Early Years in September 2020, and a stepson who is now 18 and towers over her! Emily considers the school her second home, if she’s not here on FOV duty, she can be found supporting students in class as a Student Teaching Assistant.

Nicola Edey – Nicky works part time and is currently studying book-keeping in her spare time. She is a Liverpool supporter and mum to two children at Vale, currently in Years 1 and 4. She enjoys being part of FOV because it’s a great team who make it fun, despite the hard work!

Darren Balkham – Darren is very busy in and around the school because, as well as being a trustee, Darren is also a governor. Darren has a daughter, currently in Year 5.

Kathryn Jefford

My husband and I moved to Worthing from South London with our children in 2020, mid pandemic! Our kids are in year 4 and year 1 and we are still getting to know the school but they’re settling in well. As a family we’re enjoying the local area, exploring woods and beaches and have recently joined the paddle board brigade!

I have worked in the charity sector for the last twenty odd years, currently as a project manager for the RNIB on service transformation, and previously in fundraising for some of our well-known national charities.

Charlotte Short

I’m mum to Warren and Milo. Warren is in Early Years and Milo is a Vale pupil of the future!

I’ve been in a fortunate position to be at home with my boys since Warren was born, prior to this I worked as an office manager for a local company.

I’m looking forward to putting my time and energy into the school. It would be great to get involved in events, fundraising, and doing all I can to ensure my children get the best experience whilst at the school.

Tina Winterholder

I have three children at Vale with my youngest in Year 1 and eldest in Year 6. I’ve lived in Findon Valley for 5 years as well as being born here in sunny Worthing! Since finding a bit of extra time on my hands since all my children have started school, I like spending time in the garden or baking cakes and getting back to running after a long hiatus. I look forward to helping with events this year (really missed them last year!) and of course making some new friends.
