Whilst our usual seasonal activities can’t go ahead this year the Friends of Vale School Trustees have come up with some different activities to help get the festive season off to a good start!

Journey to Lapland

Did you know that it is 1,443 miles from Vale School to Santa’s home in Lapland? That’s a little over 2 miles per child at the school.

We are setting a challenge for the pupils of Vale School to walk, run, or scoot, hop, skip or jump or maybe even sledge if we get snow (!) the distance from Vale School to Santa’s hometown.

Registration is open today, Thursday 5​ November.

All participants will receive a participation certificate and aspecially commissioned medal. Entry is £4.50 – to be paid by BACs to Friends of Vale School sort code 209874 account number 40932329. (please include your child’s name as reference).

To register and be sure of receiving the medal please complete the form below and keep a note of the distance that your child / children travel.

Then just record how far they have gone – using an app such as Strava or MapMyRun if you have it (or simply measure the distance via Google Maps) and send us the total distance they have travelled by completing the form below. Children can cover as much distance as they wish

Festive Mufti Day

On Friday 4​ December 2020 we will be holding a Festive Mufti Day.

Children can come to school in their own ‘home’ clothes – but with a festive twist!

Let’s bring some sparkle to our normal mufti day by adding tinsel, a Christmas accessory, hat or jumper if you have one – for a suggested donation of £1.00.

The FoV Trustees will place donation buckets at the green gate entrances to school for money to be dropped into as the children enter school.

All donations will be very gratefully received as our ability to raise any funds in support of our school is extremely limited this year.

Chocolate Santa Sleighs

You may recall at last year’s Christmas Fair we sold some very popular chocolate sleighs!

This year we are once again making and selling the sleighs. We have a limited number to sell, with ordering and payment online.

We will update you shortly about how to do that. All orders will be filled and sent home via the children in early December.
