Friends of Vale School (FoV) is a registered charity (Charity Number 1149337). 

The aim of the FoV is to provide fun activities and experiences for the children, their families, the teachers and staff and, where appropriate, the wider community, in order to raise funds for the benefit of all pupils of Vale School, Findon Valley. Funds are used, where appropriate, to provide the school with additional equipment and resources.

Over the years the FoV has raised money to provide laptops, a climbing zone and refurbished the school playground as well as funding the purchases of books, games and sports equipment.  The FoV also funded the school’s designated IT Suite which benefits every child at the school, as well as contributing towards the installation of the school’s astroturf pitch.

In the last year, money raised by the FoV has enabled the purchase of:

– £12,493 for school books & the Read Write Inc Scheme
– £5,000 for IT equipment replacement, used to replace interactive whiteboards.
– £1,980 for school gazebos
– £293 for new school starter packs and Year 6 pens.

The FoV is currently working hard to raise money to improve sound and lighting systems to complement the new stage facilities that we successfully fundraised for last year. The enhanced stage facility will be used for school performances and shows, helping pupils to develop skills and confidence through dancing, singing and drama.

In common with many schools, Vale School often has a need for additional resources that cannot always be met from school funds and this is why the work of the FoV is so important in providing additional facilities for Vale School children, both now and in the future.

At the heart of the FoV is a small and dedicated team of hard-working parents and carers, and we always welcome more willing volunteers. Whether you’ve got the odd spare half hour, or have regular spare time, we would love to have you come and join us.
